Ayanna Berkshire

Ayanna is thrilled to join Artists Rep as a Resident Artist. “I see the Resident Artist program as a hugely desired opportunity for any artist working in theatre. The ability to work on ones craft in an environment such as this is a rare gift. Artists Rep offers a “studio home” where the creativity, daring ideas and drive for new works are supported and encouraged by the incredibly family that is Artists Rep. It is an incubator for thought and action in the beautiful and ever-growing city of Portland. I am in awe of the talent and range of my fellow Resident Artists and inspired by their work. I feel a spark here and believe that we are igniting a fire in the art world that will grow far and wide.”

Ayanna’s career goals have always been to do great work, develop truthful, dynamic characters and to work with outstanding colleagues; boy has she been lucky. Ayanna returned to Portland in 2014 to star in Artists Rep's Intimate Apparel, directed by Michael Mendelson and plans to reside in the region part time, splitting her working life between Portland and Los Angeles, where she works in film and television.
