2019 Gala

Sunday, April 7, 2019

The Loft @ 8th Avenue, 2010 SE 8th Ave, Portland, OR 97214

Artists Rep’s Board of Directors and Gala Committee cordially invite you to a luxurious evening in support of intimate, provocative theatre and our mission to provide a home for local artists and audiences to take creative risks.

Join us in celebrating the work of strong women of theatre with special guest Lauren Gunderson. Her magnificently witty The Revolutionists follows a playwright, an assassin, a former queen, and a Caribbean spy as they attempt to save the soul of France while avoiding the edge of the guillotine’s blade. Gunderson’s cutting humor and sharp eye for storytelling is simply irresistible. We will highlight her work and the importance of live theatre in an evening that anticipates Artists Rep’s production directed by Lava Alapai.

Lauren Gunderson is the recipient of the Steinberg Playwright Award, Susan Smith Blackburn Prize Finalist, and the most-produced American playwright of 2016.

Funds raised at the event will support the community-building work of Artists Repertory Theatre & the thriving ArtsHub.
